Zendbox, an eCommerce fulfilment company based in Kent, has seen a 300% surge in its operations over the past year, expanding from a team of 20 to 80 employees and growing from one to four cutting-edge fulfilment centres. Its standout 10pm cut-off time, sustainability efforts, and inventory management technology allow direct-to-consumer (D2C) retailers to compete against “eCommerce giants.”
Serving rapidly growing SMEs and well-known brands like PRIME, USN, Puresport, and fourfive, Zendbox processed over three million orders in 2023. By connecting eCommerce sales platforms such as Shopify, eBay, and Amazon with its Zendportal technology, the company helps retailers streamline their operations and gain better insights into their supply chain performance.
James Khoury, CEO and founder of Zendbox, remarked: “Amazon’s dominance over the eCommerce market is almost scary. 44% of all product searches, in fact, start with Amazon. While our clients sell on Amazon, they also face strong D2C competition from them. We are proud to be the third-party logistics provider of choice, for retail Davids wanting to take on the Goliaths of eCommerce.”
Khoury went on to explain that the global eCommerce fulfilment market is expected to almost triple by 2030. He stated, “It is crucial for us to scale our operations to take advantage of the expanding market. For our clients, investing in operational improvements is key to enabling faster order processing, enhancing the customer experience, and reducing overheads.”
He continued, “We house over 100,000 fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) in our state-of-the-art fulfilment centres, which cover 500,000 sq ft of space. Our technology-driven approach ensures 99.999% picking accuracy, and 99.7% of orders are shipped the same day, thanks to our later order cut-off. This allows smaller retailers and established brands alike to offer next-day delivery up until 10pm, helping them go head-to-head with Amazon.”
Complete Strength’s founder, Rob Whitfield, shared how Zendbox’s 10pm cut-off time has helped grow his business, saying: “The majority of our orders come in the evening. When we had an earlier cut-off time, we missed out on sales. Now we’ve got a later cut-off time with Zendbox, we get fewer abandoned carts. We have also noticed customers are shopping with us simply because of the later cut-off time.”
