To commemorate this milestone, Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts invites guests to rediscover the beauty of travel through curated 30th-anniversary experiences, running from now until 31 December 2024.
The celebrations include special events honouring the brand’s origins at Banyan Tree Phuket, global experiences at resorts across the portfolio, the revitalisation of Saffron—the brand’s culinary centrepiece—and a renewed commitment to environmental and social initiatives that reflect Banyan Tree’s enduring dedication to sustainability.
Three Decades of Global Hospitality Excellence

Banyan Tree’s 30th-anniversary celebrations commenced this week at Banyan Tree Phuket, where an exclusive itinerary immersed guests in the full Banyan Tree experience. Through wellness activities, destination dining, cultural engagements, and community outreach, guests are invited to rediscover the allure of travel. These celebrations exemplify Banyan Tree’s mission to offer authentic experiences that encourage thoughtful living.
The brand’s legacy will be further celebrated at the grand opening of Banyan Tree Dubai next month. A special event featuring a Sunset Soirée and an exclusive Urban Wellbeing Retreat will showcase Banyan Tree’s dedication to well-being. This retreat underscores how wellness travel can offer transformative, purposeful experiences that nurture the mind, body, and soul.
Over 60 curated experiences await Banyan Tree guests worldwide, designed to inspire personal discovery and a deeper connection to the world. Guests can experience cultural traditions, from learning Noh Mask craftsmanship in Kyoto to joining a Tibetan Bonfire Dance in Ringha or stargazing beneath the Arabian night sky at Banyan Tree AlUla.
Saffron: A Culinary Revival
To mark the anniversary, Banyan Tree has revitalised its iconic Saffron restaurant, which showcases Thai culinary traditions and locally sourced ingredients. The reimagined Saffron offers a modern twist on traditional recipes, creating memorable dining experiences. Guests are invited to savour this new culinary direction on the Saffron Cruise along Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River or the Ixchel dining experience at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, set on a traditional Mexican Trajinera.
Saffron will also launch in new destinations, including Banyan Tree Dubai and Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru.
A Commitment to Sustainability
Banyan Tree Phuket was built on rehabilitated land, setting the foundation for the brand’s commitment to sustainable hospitality. In honour of its 30th anniversary, Banyan Tree Group is reaffirming its dedication to the environment with a pledge to support the local community in Phuket.
Starting in November, the Group will launch the ‘Rewilding Banyan’ initiative, donating USD $1 for every direct booking to support the restoration of natural habitats. This initiative aims to promote biodiversity, combat climate change, and improve community well-being.
