Emerging Toy Market with Enormous Growth Potential
Kids India, the leading B2B trade event for the Indian toy industry, is gearing up for its 10th edition, scheduled from 12 to 14 September 2024 at the cutting-edge Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. This milestone event is taking place at a pivotal time, as all indicators suggest significant growth for the Indian toy market. Organised by Spielwarenmesse India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of the world-leading Spielwarenmesse eG, and the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, the event is bolstered by strong support from various partners.
A Decade of Success
“Since its inception in 2013, Kids India has highlighted the immense potential of the Indian market and the need for a top-tier trade show,” said Christian Ulrich, Spokesperson of the Executive Board at Spielwarenmesse eG. Over the past decade, the event has attracted major brands, including global giants such as Hasbro, Disney, and Mattel. This year, exhibitors will showcase an extensive array of products, ranging from educational STEM toys and board games to traditional wooden toys, plush toys, cutting-edge innovations, stationery, creative articles, baby products, licensed merchandise, and sports equipment.
Driving Industry Growth
Kids India has established itself as a crucial platform for Indian manufacturers to present their innovative products and engage with key industry players. According to Manish Kukreja, President of The All India Toy Manufacturers’ Association (TAITMA), the event plays a vital role in driving the growth of the toy market, which is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15% over the next five years. This significant growth is attributed to various government initiatives aimed at boosting exports and strengthening the domestic market.
Vivek Jhangiani, Director of TAITMA and Chairperson of the FICCI Toy Committee, added: “As Kids India continues to set the standard for excellence, we are proud to support an event that promotes top-quality standards and fosters the growth of both established brands and emerging start-ups. We anticipate another successful edition that will propel the future of our industry forward.”

The fair is supported by major associations such as the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) and TAITMA, and is endorsed by the Ministry of Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), adding significant value to participating companies. Last year’s event welcomed 160 exhibitors and over 5,000 high-quality trade visitors from 35 countries. This year, the fair expects to attract numerous international buyers and leading retailers, including sourcing teams from Walmart, Toys ‘R’ Us, Amazon, Flipkart, DMart, Firstcry, and Hamleys.
