A Documentary on the Royal Family’s Fascination with UFOs
The much-anticipated documentary “The King of UFOs” is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, offering a captivating exploration of the Royal Family’s hidden interest in UFOs and the paranormal. Free to watch for Prime members, this film promises to intrigue both UFO enthusiasts and those curious about royal history alike.
Filmmaking Journey
Filmed at the Trestle Theatre in St Albans and on location at Woodcock Hill in Hertfordshire, the project was brought to life by local writer and director who won the Raindance Film Festival pitching competition. “It’s been an amazing film to make thanks to winning the competition,” the director shared. “I had this mad idea about a film looking at the Royals’ love of UFOs and ghosts, and now it’s out on one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world. A lot of it was filmed in St Albans and at my house in Woodcock Hill!”
Intriguing Stories from the Past
The documentary features compelling stories, including insights from retired CID detective John Hanson. One notable account involves the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, both of whom had a keen interest in the Rendlesham UFO case from 1980, often referred to as the British Roswell. Reports indicate that a UFO purportedly landed in the Rendlesham Forest during the Christmas weekend of 1980. Airforce personnel from nearby RAF Bentwaters, a US NATO base at the time, went to investigate and witnessed strange orbs and beams of light illuminating the forest.
Hanson elaborates in the film on how he corresponded with the royal couple regarding this incident. They were particularly fond of his books about Rendlesham, co-written with Colonel Halt, who was the deputy commander at the base during the occurrence. Halt recorded his observations using a dictaphone while investigating the lights and remains convinced that something extraordinary took place that fateful weekend.
Unbelievable Testimony
The film also includes testimony from former Naval diver Dan Costello, who claims to have seen Prince Charles piloting a UFO in Nova Scotia in 1975. Costello asserts that Charles was one of three pilots in a dome-shaped craft, propelled by a mysterious electromagnetic force that left a trailing blue ionic flame. This astonishing claim adds a unique twist to the narrative surrounding the Royal Family’s UFO encounters.
Film-maker Mark Christopher Lee stated, “Costello’s testimony is fantastical, but we have verified much of the information and evidence he provided. I have also written to King Charles to confirm his version of events. If true, it raises questions about the technology involved and why Charles was piloting it.”
The Role of the Monarchy in First Contact
Former Ministry of Defence officer Nick Pope discusses the potential role King Charles would play if humanity were to make first contact with extraterrestrial beings. He would play a crucial role as the head of state and the leader of the Anglican Church. People would look to him for guidance on how we should react to being visited by extraterrestrials,” Pope explains.
With such a fascinating blend of royal intrigue and UFO lore, “The King of UFOs” promises to be a must-watch for anyone interested in the enigmatic relationship between the Royal Family and the paranormal.
